Alex Smith on The Krueg Show

Alex Smith sat down with Bay Area sports radio host Larry Krueger on The Krueg Show to talk about Oxeia and this raise.

"The crazy part is, of all the advances in science and medicine, the prescription if you get a concussion is the same as it was a hundred years ago, the same as it was a thousand years ago. It's rest and wait."

Alex went on to describe what that actually looks like for people who don't recover quickly: "They have trouble sleeping, mood swings, headaches. There's all kinds of stuff that can persist for months and years. We still don't even have a clinically FDA-approved test for a concussion to diagnose, right?"

On Oxeia's progress so far: "To be the only drug company to have a human Phase 2A clinical trial that showed results for a symptomatic population of people that were within 30 days of concussion, and still had prolonged symptoms. We're in the midst of a fundraise here for a big Phase 2b multi-site, randomized, placebo-controlled study that would be, if we can show a result, the first of its kind in the history of medicine."
